Zelenskyy arrives at Downing Street
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at Downing Street on Friday 24 October and was welcomed by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
As reported by BBC, Starmer has greeted Zelenskyy with a hug and a handshake. The Ukrainian leader was welcomed with red-carpet honours.
Zelenskyy and Starmer exchanged a few words and posed for photographs before entering the black door of 10 Downing Street.
The Ukrainian president arrived at Downing Street after a morning meeting with King Charles III.
In the afternoon, London is set to host a hybrid-format meeting of the Coalition of the Willing.
Those attending in person, alongside Zelenskyy and Starmer, are Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Around 20 other leaders are to join the discussion via video link.
During the upcoming Coalition of the Willing meeting, Starmer is reportedly set to urge the international community to provide Ukraine with long-range capabilities and announce that a UK missile building programme has been accelerated to deliver more than 100 extra air defence missiles to Kyiv ahead of schedule.
