Russian Foreign Ministry threatens US with "severe consequences" if it supplies Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has said that the United States must "understand the depth and severity of the consequences" should it decide to provide Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles.
As reported by Russian media group RBC, Ryabkov said Russia is urging the United States to act responsibly regarding the possible transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
"The hypothetical use of such systems is only possible with the direct involvement of American personnel. I hope those pushing Washington towards this decision fully understand the depth and severity of the consequences," he stated.
Ryabkov called on the White House and the Pentagon to approach the situation "soberly, prudently and responsibly".
US President Donald Trump stated earlier that he has "sort of made a decision" on the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that if Ukraine uses long-range Tomahawk missiles, it will "harm Moscow-Washington relations".
