Orbán reveals what hinders Trump-Putin meeting
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes that several unresolved issues between the United States and Russia are preventing a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
"There are several unresolved issues in the negotiations between the US and Russia. If they are resolved, a peace summit in Budapest could take place within a few days, and from that moment, depending on the agreement between the parties, a ceasefire and peace may follow," Orbán said, as quoted by Magyar Nemzet.
According to media reports, during his visit to Washington, Orbán is attempting to persuade Trump to hold a meeting with the Kremlin leader.
Trump has so far changed his mind about meeting Putin in Budapest and admitted he is disappointed with the pace of negotiations with Russia.
