Norway will finance another batch of US weapons for Ukraine, allocating more than €267 million.

As reported by Norwegian public broadcaster NRK, at a briefing on Wednesday 17 December, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said that Norway will allocate NOK 3.2 billion – more than €267.5 million – for a new package of US-made weapons for Ukraine.

The package consists of air defence missiles as well as weapons and ammunition for F-16 fighter jets.

Støre said that Norway will procure part of this equipment from the United States under the established framework for supporting Ukraine.

Speaking after the 32nd meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (the Ramstein format) on 16 December, Ukrainian Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal, outlined assistance pledges from around a dozen Ukrainian partners – Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark and others.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that US$15 billion will be needed in 2026 to purchase US weapons required by Ukraine.
