US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has said he will visit the Ukrainian capital Kyiv soon.

According to Novyny.LIVE, asked by a journalist on the sidelines of the Ukrainian Breakfast in Davos when he might visit Kyiv, Witkoff replied: "Soon."

He did not specify when exactly the visit will take place.

During his speech at the Ukrainian Breakfast, Witkoff highlighted "significant progress" in talks on a potential end to the Russo-Ukrainian war and praised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his engagement on the issue.

On Saturday 17 January, a Ukrainian delegation consisting of Rustem Umierov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council (NSDC); Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President; and Davyd Arakhamiia, leader of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, arrived in the US for a meeting with the US negotiation team.

It was reported that the purpose of the Ukrainian team's visit to Florida was to finalise agreements on security guarantees and economic support for Ukraine from its US partners to help the country prosper.

At the time, Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian delegation in the US was to provide a full and accurate picture of events and the damage caused by Russian strikes.
