Zelenskyy commented on involving Ukrainians in shooting down drones in Persian Gulf
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the UK has not made any direct request to involve Ukrainian experts in shooting down Iranian drones in the Persian Gulf.
"I have not received any direct requests from the UK, from any of our partners or from representatives of the Middle East. I have not spoken to anyone about this, so there is nothing further to discuss," Zelenskyy said, speaking to journalists on Monday.
Zelenskyy pointed out the experience of Ukrainian troops and said Ukraine is ready to share its know-how: "Let our partners come to us."
"At the start of this war we sent our lads to nearby countries, to countries with which we have good neighbourly relations. They trained in Germany, the UK and the United States. So when these countries, countries that are our partners, approach us, we are open to sharing our experience and technologies," he added.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the country would involve Ukrainian experts in countering Iranian drones in the Persian Gulf.
On the morning of 28 February, Trump announced that the US had launched a large-scale operation against Iran. Israel also carried out strikes.
Iran responded by launching strikes on several Gulf states where US military bases are located.
