Zelenskyy: Ukrainian military should call "a certain person" blocking €90bn EU loan for Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he hopes that "a certain person" in the EU (an allusion to Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán) will stop blocking a €90 billion EU loan for Ukraine, otherwise he might give that person's contact details to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As reported by Interfax-Ukraine, a Ukrainian news agency, Zelenskyy had been speaking about the fact that Ukraine needs to make advance payments for Gripen and Rafale aircraft it has ordered from Sweden and France.
"We hope that a certain person in the European Union will not block the €90 billion, or the first tranche from the €90 billion, and our defenders will have weapons. Otherwise, we will give that person's address to our Armed Forces, to our lads, so they can call him on the phone and speak to him in their own language," Zelenskyy said.
Hungary is blocking the allocation of a €90 billion EU loan for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy recently said he hopes Orbán's party will lose the upcoming elections so that relations with Hungary can be normalised.
