Ukraine and Netherlands plan to launch joint drone production this year

Ukraine and the Netherlands are set to begin joint production of Baton and K4 drones in 2026.

The project's details are not being disclosed, and the terms of the joint production agreement remain confidential.

"We expect production to begin this year. The terms are confidential," Jurriaan Esser, a spokesperson for the Dutch Defence Ministry, said in a comment to Ukrinform.

The spokesperson mentioned that Dutch Defence Minister Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius had said that joint drone production by Ukrainian and Dutch companies is an important next step in the successful cooperation between the two countries.

Esser also stressed that the Dutch defence industry will not be intimidated by Russia, including in relation to the company Destinus, and will continue supporting Ukraine.

The spokesman stated, citing Yeşilgöz-Zegerius, that the Dutch defence industry will not be intimidated by Russia, adding that the company produces drones and missiles for Ukraine and is truly changing the situation for the better. He noted that Destinus is an important partner for the Dutch Defence Ministry.

Ukraine and Norway are establishing the first joint production of Ukrainian drones.

In addition, Ukraine and five other European countries have launched the defence procurement coalition CORPUS (Coalition for Resilient Procurement and Unified Support).
