The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, calls on the Netherlands to recognise the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

He stated this at a press conference with his Dutch counterpart Wopke Hoekstra in Kyiv.

Kuleba said that the Dutch minister began with his official visit to Kyiv with the attendance of the Holodomor memorial complex.

"We Ukrainians know too well what hunger is. So we will not stand aside from the problems of peoples who suffer from hunger. We will help them. I, in turn, also call on the Netherlands to recognise the Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian people," he said.

In turn, Hoekstra noted that the events of the Holodomor bring to mind another dictator who turned food into a weapon.

In October, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, called on the parliaments worldwide to recognise the Holodomor as genocide.
