UK Officially Confirmed Sending Storm Shadow Missiles to Ukraine

The British government has officially confirmed sending long-range Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine.

"Today, I can confirm that the UK is donating Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine. Storm Shadow is a long-range conventional-only precision strike capability," Sky News quotes Ben Wallace, the UK Defence Secretary.

Wallace noted that these missiles would complement other Western weaponry in Ukraine, including HIMARS and Harpoon missiles, as well as Ukraine's own Neptune Cruise missile and longer-range missions elsewhere gifted.

"Ukraine has a right to be able to defend itself against this. The use of Storm Shadow will allow Ukraine to push back Russian forces based within Ukrainian sovereign territory," underlined Wallace.

This year, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hinted that the UK was considering sending long-range weapons to Ukraine (Ukr).

Earlier, CNN reported on handing over Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine.

Storm Shadow is a long-range, air-launched cruise missile jointly developed by the UK and France. It has a firing range of over 250 km or 155 miles and is slightly inferior to the 185-mile American Army's "ground-to-ground" ATACMS system.
