The trip's agenda commences with a visit to the Hetman Ivan Mazepa corvette being built for the Ukrainian Navy at a shipyard near Istanbul.

The visit's programme includes a bilateral meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as an expanded meeting of the Ukrainian and Turkish delegations.

A joint press conference is planned after the bilateral meeting of the presidents.

According to the president's office in Ankara, the main topic of discussion will be the Russian aggressive war against Ukraine.

Ways to achieve "lasting peace in the region" are planned to be discussed.

The Office of the President of Ukraine announced that Zelenskyy planned to discuss with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Peace Formula, the organisation of the Peace Summit, the safety of shipping in the Black Sea, global food stability and the release of Ukrainian prisoners, political and otherwise, held in Russia.

The meeting between Zelenskyy and Erdoğan will take place after the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan insisted on the need for urgent negotiations on the ceasefire in Ukraine.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Ankara continued to support the peaceful settlement of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and was ready to offer a platform for relevant "negotiations".
