Zelenskyy and Macron agree to meet soon
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron about increasing pressure on Russia and agreed to meet soon.
After his conversation with Macron, Zelenskyy said that "now is the right moment to push the situation towards ending the war".
"The main thing is to make full use of every opportunity and apply the right kind of pressure on Russia. Pressure on the one who started the war is the key to resolution," Zelenskyy wrote on social media.
Zelenskyy added that during the discussion, he and Macron had covered all current diplomatic issues and recent contacts with partners.
"I am grateful for the support. We have agreed to meet in the near future," he added.
Last week, Zelenskyy travelled to the United States for talks with his American counterpart Donald Trump. During their meeting, he told Trump he was ready to join the upcoming talks between the US and Russia in Budapest.
Zelenskyy believes that Budapest is not the best location for the talks preliminarily agreed upon between US President Donald Trump and Russian ruler Vladimir Putin.
