Putin once again does not dare to travel to ICC member South Africa

Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin will not personally attend the G20 summit in South Africa, which is a signatory to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

As reported by Interfax, according to Peskov, Putin "will not personally attend" the G20 summit, which will take place in South Africa at the end of November.

"But Russia, as we said, will be represented at a dignified level," he said, adding that the head of the Russian delegation to the G20 will be announced "in due course".

This is the second time Putin has refused to travel to South Africa. In July 2023, he did not attend the BRICS summit "by mutual agreement" with South Africa.

Last year, the Kremlin leader did not attend the G20 summit in Brazil, which is also a signatory to the ICC Rome Statute.

Meanwhile, Putin was welcomed and not arrested in Mongolia and Tajikistan, which are members of the ICC and were obliged to execute the international arrest warrant.
