Ukraine and Lithuania have signed a memorandum to strengthen cooperation in the protection of critical infrastructure.

The memorandum was signed by Oleksandr Potii, Head of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, and Vidmantas Kaladinskas, chief advisor to the Government Office of Lithuania.

The agreement provides for exchange of experience in critical infrastructure protection planning, as well as joint seminars and training sessions to share best practices. Moreover, Lithuania will provide support in improving Ukrainian legislation on infrastructure protection, including implementation of modern international standards and EU Directive 2022/2557 of 14 December 2022.

Both sides stressed the importance of this cooperation amid wartime conditions and reaffirmed their mutual commitment under the signed memorandum.

On 6 October, Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė visited Ukraine and announced a new initiative to support and rehabilitate Ukrainian children who had previously been abducted by Russia and were later brought back to Ukraine.
