Fico complains that EU can do nothing except hate Russians

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has accused the European Union of inaction, saying that the only thing the EU does perfectly is hate Russians.

Fico claimed in an interview published on Facebook that the European Union is currently experiencing a terrible crisis unlike any it has faced before, and that only those who are strong will survive it. In the meantime, he complained that the EU is incapable of making effective decisions to overcome the crisis.

Fico said that the European Union is only capable of one thing – hating Russians – and that this is something it has been doing perfectly. However, he argued that the EU had failed to do anything else, adding that its competitiveness is declining, that it is unable to reach agreements internally, and that it cannot agree on common defence, with everyone instead looking towards the United States.

He added that with the arrival of US President Donald Trump, EU representatives have become even more helpless than before.

Nevertheless, Fico stated that a strong Slovakia would continue to fight for the European Union and that he has no intention of taking the country out of the EU.

Fico also said that EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas should resign because, in his view, she is failing to perform her duties.

It is worth noting that Slovak leaders, including Fico, recently reaffirmed their refusal to provide military support to Ukraine.
