Norwegian foreign minister arrives in Kyiv

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide arrived in Kyiv on Monday 12 January.

Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, welcomed his Norwegian counterpart and stressed the importance of allied relations between Ukraine and Norway.

"We started with honouring the memory of our fallen defenders, who gave their lives to defend Ukraine and our shared values," he said on X.

Sybiha also said he plans to discuss mutually beneficial cooperation, peace efforts, Ukraine's defence and its resilience with his counterpart.

It was reported in December that Norway will finance another batch of US weapons for Ukraine and is providing over EUR 267 million for this.

Before that, Ukraine received two mobile radiological laboratories from the United States and Norway that will expand the monitoring capabilities of Ukrainian services.
