Denmark is providing additional support to Ukraine's energy sector amounting to 150 million Danish kroner (€20 million) to help Ukrainians get through the winter.

As reported by the Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine on Facebook, 80 million Danish kroner will be channelled to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which coordinates the procurement of energy equipment for Ukraine.

Another 30 million Danish kroner will be provided through UNOPS Ukraine and East Europe for equipment to protect energy facilities.

A further 40 million Danish kroner will be allocated through partner organisations that, according to estimates, are able to deliver emergency assistance to Ukraine as quickly as possible.

In addition, used equipment from the Asnæs Power Station in Kalundborg has been transferred to Ukraine. This equipment is of high value for Ukraine, as components of older types are sometimes delivered with very long delays and, in some cases, are no longer manufactured at all.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently presented a list of energy assistance provided to Ukraine by partners in January.

It has also been reported that Kyiv will receive two mini combined heat and power plants from Germany, while the Netherlands will additionally allocate €23 million in energy assistance to Ukraine.
