Trump: Russia has lost control of its diesel oil industry due to war against Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has said Russia has lost control of its oil refining industry and called on Moscow to end its "never-ending war " against Ukraine.

"Russia has unfortunately lost control of its diesel oil industry due to its war with Ukraine. A large number of their diesel refineries have been blown up and are, at least temporarily, out of commission. This ridiculous and never ending war with Ukraine must be ended. The whole world suffers as 25,000 people, mostly soldiers, are being killed each month. What a shame!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Sources told Ukrainska Pravda that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to meet Trump in the US on 22 September.

During a phone call on 20 September, Zelenskyy and Trump agreed to meet in person on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

US digital news outlet Axios reported that during the call Trump asked Ukraine to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries.
