Ukraine and Netherlands announce joint drone production

Ukraine and the Netherlands signed an agreement on Monday 1 December on the joint production of drones in both countries.

Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans signed the agreement with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal in Brussels, on the sidelines of the EU Council meeting.

"A new milestone: Ukraine and the Netherlands are going to produce drones together in both our countries. With my Ukrainian colleague Denys Shmyhal I sign an agreement for co-production ('Build With Ukraine'). This strengthens our joint security, resilience and innovation," Brekelmans said on X.

On Monday, the Dutch minister also announced that his country would allocate an additional €250 million under the PURL initiative, which enables NATO member states to purchase US-made weapons for Ukraine.

Earlier, the Netherlands undertook to finance the first assistance package worth €500 million under the PURL initiative.
