King Charles has sent a message to Ukrainians on the first anniversary of the signing of the 100-Year Partnership Agreement between the two countries, wishing for a just and lasting peace.

The King posted the message on X to mark the first anniversary of the signing of the 100-Year Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the UK. He also mentioned the approaching fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion.

The King said that he and Queen Camilla continue to keep all Ukrainians "in our heartfelt thoughts and prayers", and that he hopes Ukraine will be able to achieve a just and lasting peace, as it deserves.

He referred to the ties between the two nations and expressed admiration for Ukrainians' resilience.

"I do pray that the flourishing bonds between our two countries may bring some hope and moral support at this most difficult time. Ukraine's most valiant strength in the face of such appalling hardship and pain is an extraordinary example to the world, and I am constantly impressed by the sheer bravery, courage and resilience shown by the Ukrainian people," he wrote.

On 16 January, a UK delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary David Lammy, arrived in Kyiv.

The visit was timed to mark the anniversary of the 100-year partnership agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

The agreement officially entered into force on 15 October 2025.
