Shmyhal: France to send 150 generators to Ukraine in February

Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal has announced that France will deliver 150 generators to Ukraine this month and will allocate a total of €71 million in energy support in 2026.

Shmyhal said on X he had held a meeting with Nicolas Forissier, France's Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness.

The energy minister briefed Forissier on Russian strikes on Ukraine's critical infrastructure. They also discussed bilateral projects between Ukraine and France.

Shmyhal said that 46 shipments of generators, transformers and emergency equipment from France are already being used to help Ukraine rebuild its energy system.

He thanked the French minister for the decision to provide generators to address critical needs as well as for financial assistance to repair energy facilities.

France is allocating €70 million to support projects to be implemented in Ukraine under the Critical Infrastructure Support Fund.

On 3 February, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reported on the latest batches of energy assistance from Lithuania, Finland, Turkiye and Bulgaria.

It also became known on Tuesday that the staff of Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs are raising funds to buy generators for Ukraine.
