Milrem Robotics, an Estonian robotic vehicle manufacturer, has announced that it will deliver over 150 THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles to Ukraine.

Milrem Robotics is set to supply Ukraine with over 150 THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles as part of aid financed and coordinated by the Netherlands.

A significant portion of these vehicles will be assembled and delivered in collaboration with VDL Defentec, a Dutch technology company.

In close cooperation with VDL Defentec, Milrem Robotics is organising the assembly of equipment on a new production line designed for scalable production.

Milrem Robotics will also provide training for Ukrainian operators and support personnel to ensure the robots' efficient deployment and maintenance in the field.

The new units will add to the 15 THeMIS vehicles already in service in Ukraine, which have proved their effectiveness on the battlefield since 2022.

Milrem Robotics describes THeMIS as a tested and highly adaptable unmanned vehicle platform designed to support infantry, logistics, reconnaissance and combat missions. It is currently being used in 19 countries as part of various robotics programmes.

In March, Ukraine submitted a list of required military equipment and supplies worth €100 million, which Estonia promptly procured from its domestic defence industry.

On 14 September, Estonia announced that it intends to continue providing military support to Ukraine – next year, more than €100 million, or 0.25% of the country's GDP, will be allocated for this purpose.

It was reported earlier that Estonia had concluded training for a group of 13 Ukrainian police leaders, where Estonian law enforcement shared their expertise.
