King Charles III of the United Kingdom has issued a statement after the arrest of his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in public office, supporting the investigation and saying he hopes for a fair process.

As reported by the Guardian, King Charles III said he received the news of the former Prince Andrew's arrest "with the deepest concern" and expressed hope for a fair process.

"What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation," he said.

Charles III said he would refrain from further comment on Andrew's case while the investigation continues.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the brother of Charles III, King of the United Kingdom, was arrested on 19 February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Police have been looking into allegations against the former Duke of York in connection with the case of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The files released by the US Department of Justice alleged that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had passed official British trade documents to Epstein.

In October 2025, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of the title of prince amid allegations of ties to Epstein.

Following the release of new Epstein files, he moved out of his royal residence.
