Media reported on a phone call between Xi Jinping and Trump after speaking with Putin
Chinese leader Xi Jinping has held a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump on 4 February.
As reported by China Daily, a publication owned by the Central Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party, no details of the conversation have been disclosed so far.
The press service of the US president has also not yet commented on the call.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Kremlin press service said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping had held talks via video link. According to Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the sides discussed bilateral relations and "key international issues".
Update: Donald Trump called the conversation "excellent" and described his relationship with China and with Xi as "extremely good". He said the call was long and thorough, with the sides discussing "many important subjects", including trade, military matters, Trump's upcoming trip to China, expected in April, Taiwan, the war between Russia and Ukraine, the current situation with Iran, China's purchases of US oil and gas, supplies of aircraft engines and many other issues.

As previously reported, Trump threatened to impose 100 percent tariffs on Canadian imports after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited Beijing and signed a trade agreement with China.
The US president also warned the United Kingdom against deepening cooperation with China, saying it was "dangerous."
