Suspected drone debris found on Romanian farmland near Ukrainian border

The Romanian Ministry of National Defence has received a report regarding the discovery of object debris that fell in Brăila County.

The Romanian Defence Ministry states that debris from an object – presumably a drone – fell on farm land on Great Brăila Island in Brăila County. A local citizen reported the incident during the night.

The man stated that a fire broke out following the crash of the debris but extinguished itself, causing no casualties or material damage.

Units from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Romanian Intelligence Service arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. The discovered pieces will be sent for expert examination.

On the night of 28-29 September, Romania tracked an aerial asset near its airspace and scrambled fighter jets to monitor the situation. However, no airspace violation was officially reported at that time.

On the night of 25-26 September, an unidentified object violated Romanian airspace, leading to the scrambling of Allied fighter jets.

It was also reported that on the evening of 26 September, Moldovan border guards discovered pieces of an unmanned aerial vehicle outside the village of Volintiri in the Ștefan Vodă district.
