Ukraine has received a €1.9 billion tranche of financial support from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility programme.

European Pravda has published a list of 11 demands regarding minorities that Hungary has put forward to Ukraine in exchange for its agreement to support the start of negotiations on countriesʼs accession to the EU.

Among the 11 demands of Hungary regarding the protection of the rights of national minorities, a key stumbling block is the designation of areas in Ukraine with a special level of guarantees for the rights of Hungarians. In particular, this refers to the country's westernmost Zakarpattia Oblast, where, according to the 2001 census and previous years, the proportion of Hungarians was over 10%.

NATO member states are currently discussing Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg's idea for a €40 billion-a-year funding plan for Ukraine, although some allies remain sceptical.
