Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Responds to China: It Is Incorrect to Pretend That You Do Not Know About Drone Attacks on Kyiv

The spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, Oleh Nikolenko, commented on the statements of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, which claim that they are not aware of Russian attacks on Kyiv using drones.

"It is hard for me to imagine that the Chinese ambassador, who is in Ukraine, does not inform his government about the attacks on the Ukrainian capital. Our embassy in Beijing also regularly sends information about Russia's crimes in Ukraine to the Chinese Foreign Ministry," Nikolenko stated on his Facebook.

The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that "it is incorrect to pretend that nothing is happening when the whole world is talking about it".

"We expect a more proactive role for China as a permanent member of the UN Security Council. There can be no compromises or political nuances when it comes to condemning barbaric crimes against civilians," he added.

As reported, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a briefing the day before that China did not know anything about the Russian drone attack on Kyiv, which killed five people and damaged infrastructure.

The European Union has prepared a document that must toughen up its attitude towards China and see the country as an all-out competitor with limited areas of potential engagement.

Last week, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, gave a speech in which he said that the EU was too reliant on Russia and China, and this should change.
