President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recorded a video message in Polish on the 104th anniversary of the restoration of Poland's independence.

The president addresses "allied Poland," noting that his greeting will consist of 104 words on the 104th anniversary.

"Ukraine and Poland are together. You're our sister. All sorts of things happened between us. But we're family. We're free. When we celebrated the 30th anniversary of our restored independence, Poland was by our side," the president said.

"I remember our common happiness. We rejoiced together. When we met again with an old and common enemy, Poland was by our side. Ukrainians will always remember this. They will remember how you welcomed our people. How you are helping us. Your people are our allies. Your country is our sister. Your friendship is forever. Our friendship is forever. Our love is forever. And we will be winners together," Zelenskyy said in his welcoming speech.

Since the Russian invasion, Poland has provided Ukraine with various financial, humanitarian, military aid and has received the largest number of Ukrainian refugees.

During his visit to Kyiv on August 23, President Andrzej Duda said that Poland would support Ukraine until the last day of the fight.

In late July, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill on the special status of Poles in Ukraine initiated by Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a sign of gratitude to Poland for helping Ukrainians.
