Ukraine To Decide Itself When It Is Time for Negotiations - German Ambassador
Ukraine will make its own decisions when it is ready to negotiate with Russia on war's end.
German Ambassador to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen said this in the interview "Kyiv not Kiev."
"I think my government has been very clear about this - both the Chancellor and the Foreign minister. They have clearly said that under such circumstances, when Russia bombs civilian infrastructure, there is no point in negotiating now. Only Ukraine will make a decision when it is time for negotiations," Feldhusen said.
Earlier, British Secretary of State for Foreign James Cleverly said that "any peace talks in Ukraine cannot be a fig-leaf for Russian rearmament."
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed a similar opinion. According to him, the United States remains concerned that Russia might use diplomatic negotiations to end the war in Ukraine as a ploy to improve its tactical position on the battlefield.
At the same time, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry stated, Russia cannot dictate its terms for negotiations with Ukraine on ending the war.
