14,000 Ukrainian soldiers have returned to defend homeland after receiving training in the UK.

According to Sky News, defence minister Andrew Murrison, who is still answering questions on Ukraine in the House of Commons, says it is "pretty clear" that the UK is leading in Europe.

"We led the International Fund for Ukraine in instigating it and £520m, of which £300m has been expended, is really quite an achievement," said Morrison.

According to the official, the UK is helping to pursue war crimes linked to the conflict, adding: "In every dimension, in this country we're taking a lead."

Morrison also reported that 14,000 Ukrainian troops have so far returned to defend their homeland after receiving training in the UK.

"The UK will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes and will spend another £2.3bn on military support to Ukraine this year," he added.

As reported, more than 16,000 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already received training in the European Union.
