On Friday, Polish farmers staged another roadblock protest at the border crossing with Ukraine in Dorohusk.

According to RMF FM, the Lublin branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) reported on Friday that National Road No. 12 in Okopy, which leads to the border crossing in Dorohusk, was blocked due to the farmers' protest.

As stated in the announcement, the passage is only allowed for vehicles with humanitarian aid.

Sergeant Angelika Głąb-Kunysz of the Helm Police Command stated that police officers were present at the scene to maintain order and ensure safety. She mentioned that as part of the protest action, two trucks from Poland to Ukraine will be allowed to pass every hour, while no trucks from Ukraine to Poland will be permitted.

If the queue becomes too long, the vehicles will be redirected to other border crossing points, she said, adding that the roadblock protest, as announced by the organisers, will continue until midnight on Monday.

Michał Deruś, the Chamber of Tax Administration spokesperson in Lublin, reported that on Friday morning, approximately 320 heavy-duty vehicles were waiting in a nine-hour queue to exit Poland and enter Ukraine at the Dorohusk checkpoint. According to the Ukrainian side, 3,185 trucks were registered in the electronic queue to enter Poland. In the past 12 hours, 673 vehicles were processed in both directions in Dorohusk.

In February, farmers conducted similar protests on roads leading to border crossings in Dorohusk and Hrebenne. As reported by the organisers on social media, they were protesting against the influx of Ukrainian grain.

On June 7, a group of farmers protested at the border crossing in Medyka in the Subcarpathian region at the Poland-Ukraine border.
