The European Union is working to provide Ukraine with an additional €100 million in aid for the winter period.

Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who is visiting Kyiv on 13 October, said at a press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha that the EU has mobilised €800 million to support Ukraine this winter.

"We are working on an extra €100 million for generators, shelters and cold weather gear," she emphasised.

Kallas added that Russia is currently attempting to compensate for its failures on the battlefield through "terror attacks against civilian and Ukrainian energy infrastructure".

Sweden recently announced an additional contribution of nearly €100 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Denmark also prepared a military aid package for Ukraine worth more than US$400 million.
