Sweden allocates €100 million in winter aid to Ukraine

Tuesday, 2 December 2025 —

The Swedish government has announced a new package of civilian assistance for Ukraine worth more than 1.1 billion Swedish kronor (€100 million) to address the country's most urgent needs in recovery and strengthening resilience.

According to the Swedish government, the aid will target immediate needs ahead of and during the coming winter, as well as help bolster Ukraine's resilience in future winters.

The new assistance package will be directed towards meeting Ukraine's most pressing priorities, including energy supply, the repair and recovery of damaged infrastructure, reforms and healthcare. The total value of the package amounts to 1.112 billion Swedish kronor.

"The government is presenting a new support package focused on the most urgent needs this winter, as well as on assistance that strengthens Ukraine's long-term resilience. Sweden continues to do everything possible to support Ukraine," said Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade.

"Energy supply is a vital component of overall defence. Together with international partners, we are now increasing support for Ukraine's energy system. This strengthens not only Ukraine's resilience but also the defence of the whole of Europe," noted Minister for Energy and the Economy Ebba Busch.

Ukraine's Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko earlier announced that Germany had allocated additional funds to reinforce Ukraine's infrastructure this winter.

Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid has also recently delivered another support package to Ukraine, which will strengthen the country's power supply and assist in restoring damaged energy infrastructure.
