The Russian state agency RIA Novosti and the Russian agency Interfax reported on North Korea's recognition of the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.

The agencies stated the North Korean embassy in Russia confirmed that, writes "European Pravda."

Terrorist leader Denys Pushylin announced earlier the recognition of the "DPR" quasi-republic. The so-called "LPR" did not make any statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Korea has not yet officially commented on this information.

The Telegram channel of the so-called "DPR embassy" in Russia published a photo of the meeting of their "ambassador" with the North Korean ambassador to Russia, Sin Hong-chol, who allegedly handed over a document on the independence "recognition."

In addition, Interfax was informed by the DPRK embassy that the corresponding note of recognition was handed over in Pyongyang by the deputy head of the North Korean Foreign Ministry to the Russian ambassador.

On June 30, Ukraine severed diplomatic relations with Syria in response to Syria's recognition of the so-called "LPR/DPR" "independence."
