"Here in Iprin there is a destroyed city, razed to the ground, and in Italy, there are those who still deny the acts that happened on the part of Russian troops, doing Putin's work,"  ANSA quotes di Maio.

The head of the Italian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that he considers it necessary to provide all possible support to Ukraine.

Answering the question of what Ukraine should expect after the upcoming Italian elections on September 25, Di Maio expressed hope that they would not change Rome's position.

"As the Italian government, we have chosen to be on the side of the Ukrainian people. In defending Europe, we can only encourage them to continue... We hope to continue supporting Ukraine with all possible forces because Ukraine is the frontier of Europe. It is not defending only itself," he said.

As previously reported, Luigi Di Maio left his party, the 5-Star Movement, on June 5, due to its unwillingness to back Ukraine.

Subsequently, in July, he expressed fears that the resignation of Mario Draghi's government would jeopardize the supply of arms to Ukraine.
