Zelensky Talked with Erdogan about Security

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

"Had a telephone conversation with the President of Turkey Erdogan. Current security issues were discussed," reads Zelensky's post on Twitter.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that he (Putin) wants to end the war as soon as possible.

Erdoğan also said that the return of the territories of Ukraine captured by Russia will facilitate the negotiation process on ending the war. He added that Ukraine and Russia managed to reach an agreement on the exchange of 200 prisoners of war.

On 20 September, the State Duma of the Russian Federation amended the Criminal Code and introduced the concepts of mobilisation, martial law and "wartime".

The occupiers plan to hold their sham referendums on annexing the captured territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions to Russia from September 23 to 27.
