No Surprise That Iran Rejects Supply of Weapons to Russia, There Will Be Consequences for Supporting War - Ukraine's MFA

Ukrainian experts have provided Tehran with the evidence of Russia's strikes in Ukraine by Iranian drones.

We are not surprised by yet another objection from Iran regarding the supply of weapons to Russia. During the technical meeting, Ukrainian experts provided the Iranians with the sufficient evidence. We have hundreds of recorded facts of shelling of Ukraine by Iranian-made drones," Oleh Nikolenko, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said to "European Pravda."

"No matter how Tehran does its best to get away with it, the Ukrainian side has made it clear: the consequences of supporting the war in Ukraine are much more extensive than the benefits it will receive from supporting Russia," Nikolenko added.

The day before, Iranian Defence Minister Reza Ashtiani said that "at the technical meeting, the Ukrainian side did not give any evidence of Russia's deployment of Iranian drones in the fight with this state."

"Ukraine has postponed presenting documents to a next meeting and said the issue is not significant as many claims have been raised based on unfounded remarks and rumours," Ashtiani said.

In addition, on Monday, the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani Chafi, said that Tehran did not send weapons to "either side" and that Iran's cooperation with Russia is based on common interests and "is not directed against third countries."

"We have said many times that we did not provide weapons or military assistance to any side in this war, and we emphasise again that Iran has always tried and is ready to use its relations and capabilities to help the two sides to reach a political solution," he said.

As reported, Iran wants to limit the range of the missiles it plans to provide to Russia to wage a full-scale war in Ukraine, fearing the reaction of the international community.
