Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba asks Ukraine's partners to speed up the supply of ammunition, as every day of delay means someone is going to die on the frontline.

Kuleba noted in an interview with BBC that the Western allies did not provide Ukraine with military support quickly enough because they were not prepared for a conflict on the same scale as World War I.

He emphasised Ukraine's need for artillery shells.

"We want partners to act faster. And if one delivery is postponed for one day, it means that someone is going to die on the front line," he said.

"It means that someone who could have been still alive is going to die," he added.

As noted, nowhere is the need for ammunition greater than in Bakhmut, where Ukrainian troops have been holding the defence against repeated Russian attempts to capture the city for more than seven months now.

This, Kuleba said, is "emotionally very challenging" because of the losses suffered.

But, he noted, if Bakhmut falls, then other cities would be next: "So in order to save lives there… we have to fight in Bakhmut as long as we physically can."

Earlier, Dmytro Kuleba and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed Ukraine's "peace formula" and ways to speed up the supply of artillery ammunition.
