Wednesday, 17 May 2023

The fourth Council of Europe Summit has approved a final resolution expressing political support for the Ukrainian "peace formula."

As the correspondent of "European Pravda" reports from Reykjavik, the document adopted by the presidents and heads of governments of Council of Europe member states expresses "full support for Ukraine and their solidarity with its people" and guarantees that the world "will stand with Ukraine as long as necessary."

Furthermore, Council of Europe member states also underline their vision for the road to peace that Ukraine promotes.

The document emphasizes, "There can be no lasting peace without accountability. We support the principles of a fair and lasting peace outlined in President Zelenskyy's 'peace formula.'"

Thus, the Council of Europe Summit has become the first major international forum to officially endorse the Ukrainian plan for peace. The Council of Europe consists of 46 member states.

Previously, EuroPravda published Zelenskyy's so-called "peace formula" with 10 points (Ukr), which Ukraine presented in November of last year.

43 states approved an agreement on the Register of Damage caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine at the Council of Europe Summit in Reykjavik.
