Wednesday, 3 May 2023

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he had seen reports from Moscow of an alleged drone attack by Ukraine on the Kremlin.

According to the New York Times, Blinken said he could not confirm reports of an alleged attack on the Kremlin.

"I would take anything coming out of the Kremlin with a very large shaker of salt," the Secretary of State said.

When asked about the U.S. position on any possible attacks by Ukraine on Russia, he said, "These are decisions for Ukraine to make about how it's going to defend itself."

Earlier, the media reported that the United States was gathering facts about the drone in Moscow, which, according to the Russian side, attacked the Kremlin.

According to an unnamed US official, the United States was not warned about the alleged drone attack on the Kremlin.

Earlier, the press service of the Kremlin claimed that Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles "attempted to launch an attack" on "the Kremlin residence of Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia."

Serhii Nykyforov, spokesman for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has said that Ukraine has no information about last night’s attack on the Kremlin.
