According to the Ministry of Defence of Finland, this will be the 17th package of defence materiel to Ukraine, including anti-aircraft weapons and ammunition, among other items.

"We will continue to support Ukraine together with our allies. The outcome of the war will determine the security order of Europe and Finland for decades, which is why supporting Ukraine is an essential part of Finland's security," says Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.

The announcement states that the decision to provide additional assistance took into account the needs of Ukraine as well as the resources of the Finnish Armed Forces.

"For operational reasons and to ensure that the delivery reaches its destination," the Ministry of Defence did not provide further details on the military assistance to Ukraine.

Earlier, it was reported that Denmark plans to allocate 1.3 billion Danish kroner (about 170 million euros) for military assistance to Ukraine.

The European Coincil adopted a decision increasing the overall financial ceiling of the European Peace Facility (EPF) by €3.5 billion, from which compensation for the weapons transferred to Ukraine is paid to the countries.
