Thursday, 10 August 2023

The Estonian government has announced the transfer of 150 units of small arms and ammunition to Ukraine.

According to the Defence Ministry of Estonia, as stated by Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur, it is necessary to support Ukraine against aggression from Russia, which, he believes, "should not benefit from aggression."

Estonia has already provided Ukraine with over 400 million euros in military aid, which amounts to more than 1% of its GDP. Previously, Tallinn supplied Kyiv with Javelin anti-tank missiles, howitzers, artillery ammunition, anti-tank mines, anti-tank grenade launchers, mortars, vehicles, communication equipment, field hospitals, medical supplies, personal protective equipment, and dry rations.

Recently, the United States confirmed the preparation of a new package of military assistance for Ukraine worth $200 million.

Earlier, the Bulgarian government approved a draft agreement between the Bulgarian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ukrainian Defence Ministry for the free provision of armoured transport equipment.
