Zelenskyy wants to discuss with Trump new arms package Ukraine ready to purchase

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy intends to discuss the purchase of a new defence package with US President Donald Trump.

"One of the issues I will discuss with President Trump at our meeting is a defence package that Ukraine is ready to purchase," Zelenskyy said at a press conference in Vienna.

Zelenskyy emphasised the significant role of US assistance over the past years of this ongoing full-scale war with Russia. He stated that, for now, no one wants to imagine what it would be like to live and fight without US support. At present, there are no talks with the US about new assistance, but Zelenskyy hopes to raise the issue in a conversation with Trump.

On 16 June, it emerged that Trump plans to meet with Zelenskyy for Zelenskyy said at a press conference in Vienna on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada.

Zelenskyy is expected to attend the summit as a guest on Tuesday.
