Sybiha outlined Ukraine's response to Hungary's blockage of Ukrainian websites

Tuesday, 30 September 2025 —

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has stated that Ukraine will respond in kind to Hungary's unfriendly actions.

Sybiha answered the question about Kyiv's reaction to Hungary blocking certain Ukrainian mass media sites.

"Ukraine will respond in kind to all unfriendly actions from the Hungarian side", said Sybiha in an interview with Ukrinform.

In mid-September, Ukraine banned several foreign news outlets that regularly disseminate Russian propaganda, including the Hungarian websites Origo and Demokrata.

On 29 September, Hungary introduced mirror measures against a number of Ukrainian news portals, including European Pravda and Ukrainska Pravda.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasised that the Hungarian government's decision to block access to Ukrainian media is aimed at blocking Hungarians' access to fact-based journalism.

On 30 September, Hungarian providers began implementing bans to Ukrainian media sites that were banned by the government.
