Swedish forces detect and escort Russian submarine in Baltic Sea
The Swedish military detected a Russian submarine in the Baltic Sea on 14 October and escorted it with fighter jets.
"Yesterday [on 14 October], a russian submarine entered the Baltic Sea via the Great Belt," Swedish Air Force wrote on X.
The Air Force reported that naval units and fighter aircraft had encountered the submarine in the Kattegat area and escorted it.
"This is a routine mission carried out together with our allies," the Swedish military noted.

Recently, NATO's Allied Maritime Command reported that the Russian submarine Novorossiysk surfaced off the coast of France.
The Dutch Ministry of Defence stated that Dutch forces had escorted the Novorossiysk and the tugboat Yakov Grebelsky in the North Sea, which suggests that the submarine was being towed.
On 13 October, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte mocked Russia over the malfunction of its Novorossiysk submarine.
