Zelenskyy arrives at European Council meeting

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived at the European Council meeting.

Before the meeting, Zelenskyy was met by European Council President António Costa.

He thanked Costa for the invitation to the meeting and for the decision on the 19th package of sanctions.

Zelenskyy said that the 19th package of European Union sanctions, as well as US sanctions against Russian oil companies, are a good signal for other countries to join them.

On the morning of 23 October, the European Union finally approved the 19th package of sanctions against Russia by written procedure.

For the first time during Donald Trump's second term, the United States imposed new large-scale sanctions against Russia for Moscow's unwillingness to take the American president's peacekeeping efforts seriously.
