Zelenskyy shares expectations of visits to Spain and Türkiye
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed his expectations of visits to Spain and Türkiye, scheduled for 18 and 19 November.
On Tuesday 18 November, Zelenskyy will visit Spain, where he expects meetings that Ukraine "has been preparing for quite some time".
"We expect that another strong country will increase its support – helping us protect lives and bring the end of the war closer," Zelenskyy wrote on X.
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is working to ensure that the meeting with Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez brings "agreements that will give us greater strength".
The next day, Wednesday 19 November, the Ukrainian leader will visit Türkiye. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is preparing an intensification of negotiations regarding the Russo-Ukrainian war.
"We are preparing to reinvigorate negotiations, and we have developed solutions that we will propose to our partners. Doing everything possible to bring the end of the war closer is Ukraine's top priority. We are also working to restore POW exchanges and bring our prisoners of war home," the Ukrainian president said.
On 17 November Zelenskyy and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron signed a declaration in France on strengthening Ukraine's defence capability.
The document provides for Ukraine's purchase of up to 100 French Rafale fighter jets, as well as air defence assets and French-made drones.
Zelenskyy later added that among the equipment that may be procured by Ukraine, besides 100 aircraft, are SAMP-T air defence systems, air defence radars, air-to-air missiles and aerial bombs.
