Zelenskyy outlines three main issues in "peace deal", territory being most problematic
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that three issues are causing the most debate in discussions on the "peace plan" for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy noted that talks on the US-proposed "peace plan" "are a process that has not yet been completed".
"Frankly, the territorial issue is the most difficult. The issue of funding for recovery, in my view, without the involvement of our European partners, is neither simple nor easy, because the money is in Europe. I do not think this is entirely fair. And the issue of security guarantees, which is very important, specifically from the United States of America and specifically from Europe.
So I would say these are the three main topics, the main components and at the same time the triggers. And we need to be very cautious here." Zelenskyy said during a press conference after meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.
Zelenskyy thanked Ukraine's negotiating teams, adding that "the plan looks better".
Earlier on Monday, Zelenskyy held a phone call with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council and the head of the Ukrainian delegation.
The call took place ahead of an upcoming meeting between Witkoff and Russian ruler Vladimir Putin scheduled for Tuesday 2 December.
