Kremlin says Putin has been invited to Trump's "Board of Peace" for Gaza
The Kremlin has said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has received an invitation via diplomatic channels to join the Gaza "Board of Peace" initiated by US President Donald Trump.
According to Vedomosti, the Kremlin is currently studying the details of the proposal.
"At present, we are examining all the details of this proposal. We hope to communicate with the American side to clarify all the nuances," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov added.
As previously reported, US President Donald Trump intends to demand US$1 billion from countries seeking a permanent seat on the "Board of Peace" he is creating, an idea presented as an alternative to the United Nations.
The "Board of Peace" is described in its draft charter as "an international organisation that seeks to promote stability, restore dependable and lawful governance, and secure enduring peace in areas affected or threatened by conflict".
According to sources, Trump has already invited Argentina and Canada, as well as several European countries, to join the "Board of Peace for Gaza" (a separate group operating under the broader umbrella of the "Board of Peace"). Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni have both confirmed they have received such invitations.
