In the message, the French president proposed that G7 countries meet in Paris on 22 January, followed by a joint dinner.
"I can invite the Ukrainians, the Danish, the Syrians and the Russians in the margins," Macron wrote.
US President Donald Trump, in a conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, emphasised the importance of Greenland for US national security and announced meetings on the issue with various parties in Davos.
Media outlets have written that US President Donald Trump suggested that a European military presence on the island would be a provocation against him.
Nevertheless, Trump advised Europe to focus on the Russo-Ukrainian war rather than Greenland.
